Cheerful All Occasion Cards

When I got this stamp in the mail today from Rubbernecker Stamps, I knew this was a chance to try out my new Memento Markers. I just love the cheeriness of this stamp and I wanted to make the card look just as cheery. I will stamp a greeting on the white part above the teapot to fit whatever occasion I need when I decide to use one. I think a 'sending warm thoughts' stamp I have would fit, and just a hello, get well or thinking of you would work too. I know I will be using this stamp again, and I am in love with these Memento Markers, I don't know why I waited so long to get them! If anybody reading this has been debating these markers, go for it, you won't be sorry!  Thanks for looking :)

Materials used:
Teapot stamp from Rubbernecker Stamps - see link above
Designer Paper is from K & Co., card stock is from Neenah and Papertrey Ink.
Memento markers I used were: new sprout, summer sky, dandelion, & angel pink
Nestabilities labels one
Memento Ink
Sakura glitter and white pen
Glossy Accents on the bigger hearts
Ribbon from my ribbon stash - I knew I wanted to add ribbon to these cards but I didn't think there was room for a bow which made it look so plain, so I threaded the ribbon through some tabs and looped it back under the focal piece just to do something different. I really like the way it turned out and will most likely be doing this ribbon effect again.

Baby on The Way and Calling All Challenge Crafters!

I am so excited to share some news with my blogging community - my 7th grand baby is on the way!!! Mommy is doing good and I wish I could be there (2000 miles away) We expect baby to be here by the end of the day. Can you believe this will be my 6th granddaughter? My grandson is totally outnumbered, but he doesn't mind.

Now about challenges: I have really wanted to start doing challenges, but I just never kept track of all the challenge opportunities - until now. I put up a challenge list to the right over there, these are the challenge blogs I found. If you have a favorite or fun challenge you like to participate in that is not in my list, please comment with the information so I can add it to my list. I also tried to put the day of the challenge so I know when to check for new ones so if you see a mistake there please let me know.

My Blog Name Has Changed

BEEJAY'S STUDIO NOW KNOWN AS SLEEPY CAT CRAFTS ~ If you got here by clicking a link somewhere, maybe another blog or maybe you were following my blog, you may have noticed a weird delay before this blog loaded. That is because, after much consideration and research, I have decided to change my blog name to match my soon to be etsy store and website name of Sleepy Cat Crafts. In order to not lose any followers or links to my blog that may have been out there, I needed to snap up my old blog name and add a redirect so that traffic ended up here. Unfortunately there is no real good way to do that - hence the weird delay. Bottom line though, is that this is my same old blog, just with a new name. And I am still beejay, just now of http://www.sleepycatcrafts.blogspot.com/.

By the way, when I started making items to sell, I proclaimed my crafting studio to be a cat free zone. And it has been a constant battle since then to keep sneaky cats that were on the prowl for loose ribbons and strips of paper which apparently are crazy fun to play with, out of the cat free zone. Having said all that, see the picture below of what is now a  constant fixture in my studio - or on my desk if I am at the computer - yes I had to make 2 identical cushy beds. And now you know the story behind Sleepy Cat Crafts.

Cricut Card Fairies Birthday Blog Hop ~ Day 3

Welcome (or welcome back) to the final day of the Cricut Card Fairies Birthday Blog Hop. It has been 3 years since our leader Crystal started the Cricut Card Fairies Army. That is 3 years of sharing handmade cards, smiles, virtual hugs and wishes for people in need of just those things. Please visit Crystal's blog to find out more about the CCFA, and if you just happened upon my blog by accident - you can start the blog hop at the beginning while you are there.

I have CANDY - Hello Kitty Greetings & Forever Young cartridges. See my post for day 1 of the blog hop here to find out how you could win BOTH cartridges!! Good Luck!!

For my final post, I stuck with the birthday theme. Today I had a big chunk of time just for crafting so I decided to challenge myself a bit. I decided to - 1) make three birthday cards, 2) only use paper from my scrap pile, and 3) and this was the hardest - make only masculine birthday cards!! I know that is a hard one for alot of people, including me! So check out my cards below, I hope you enjoy. And please click here for my day 1 post because I have  BLOG CANDY!! I am giving away 2 brand new cricut cartridges and I don't want you to miss the chance to win one OR BOTH of them!!

Happy Birthday cut from Stamping cartridge at 1 3/4", the chipboard alpha pieces are from The Girl's Paperie, all paper from my scrap pile, inks are Tim Holtz distress inks, twine from my stash, Memento markers. The band in the center was made by pulling my bone folder across a strip of cardstock in the same way you use scissors to curl ribbon. Just keep pulling your bone folder across the strip of card stock alternating sides until the edges start to separate, then peel the layers apart. I hope that makes sense - I love the suede look this gives the piece.

Relax and Pup cut from Paper Pups cartridge, Relax cut at 1" and pup at 1 1/2", paper from my scraps, inks are Tim Holtz distressed inks, Memento markers.

This is actually for my hubby's birthday. He always teases me for getting lost - which I do alot, he is right - so I liked the little inside joke to this card, the idea was based on one from my last Cardmaker magazine. I cut the compass from the Stamping cartridge at 1 1/2", paper from my scraps, inks are Tim Holtz distressed inks. The map I found online and printed, then tore, distressed and inked. The phrase is also digital.  I think the phrasing on this card could be changed to fit any guy, not just a husband.

I hope you enjoyed these projects, please click here to find out how you can win 1 or both of the cartridges I am giving away, and to find links to all the other blogs in the hop! Thanks for stopping by!!

CRICUT CARD FAIRIES BIRTHDAY BLOG HOP - DAY 2

Welcome to day 2 of the fabulous Cricut Card Fairies birthday blog hop! This is my 2nd post for the blog hop, and if you are returning to get in on the extra blog candy - welcome back!

I am continuing with the birthday theme and again using the HELLO KITTY GREETINGS cartridge.

This card was made with the image on page 39 and cut at 3 1/2".
Papers are from K & company, Papertrey Ink
Stamp is from Verve Stamps
I used Crystal Lacquer pens to give the balloons their shine.
The top and bottom piece are the 2 halves of a nestie label die cut.

I am still having cricut issues causing problems with cut sizes and I am not happy with the piecing of this kitty but it was getting no better with my 3rd attempt so I apologize for kitty's sloppy look :(

Now ~ you want some candy?? I have candy!! ~ You could win this HELLO KITTY cartridge, or the FOREVER YOUNG cartridge... or both!! See my post from day 1 of the blog hop (below) for details on how to win and for more information on the Cricut Card Fairies.

The next stop on the hop is Gina's blog , thanks for hopping along!

Be sure to come back tomorrow for my 3rd post - thanks!

HAPPY BLOG HOP TO YOU!!

WELCOME TO THE CRICUT CARD FAIRY BLOG HOP!

(Hopefully you arrived here from Jenn's blog. If not, there is a list of all bloggers below.)

Happy Friday! Today we are celebrating the Cricut Card Fairies!! We turned THREE YEARS OLD yesterday! YAY! What are Cricut Card Fairies you may be asking? Well I am here to tell you! We are a group of crafting volunteers who LOVE to send cards to those that need it. To date we have sent over 750 missions all over the globe. That is over 750 smiles and hugs via cards. Isn't that amazing? I became a fairy in 2010 because I was inspired by all the other fairies and the joy and comfort they were spreading.  If you are interested in becoming a fairy you can email Crystal at cricutcardfairyarmy@gmail.com with your cricut messageboard name and the email for which you wish to receive missions.

For this blog hop we had two themes to pick from, Fairies and Birthdays, and I bet you can tell from the title of this post, I picked birthdays.

I will be posting new projects for all three days of the blog hop, here are my first projects. I hope you get inspired by these two because I have the perfect BLOG CANDY for ya' if you do.
